Tanqueray strongly believes in giving back to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community, and is engaged in many local community groups. She is currently a Board member of Playing for Others. She is also a past Board member of Sustain Charlotte, and Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte. As an avid dog lover, Tanqueray volunteers for the Humane Society of Charlotte’s Foster Parent Program.
Tanqueray attended South Carolina State University, graduating cum laude with a B.S. in Civil Engineering Technology. She also earned a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. Following undergraduate school, Tanqueray worked as a Senior Engineer for the Virginia Department of Transportation, and in multiple roles within the Commercial Construction industry with an emphasis on sustainable building and consulting. In 2009, she founded TR Edwards Construction, LLC and began teaching in the Construction Management Technology Program at Central Piedmont Community College. In both business and as an instructor, Tanqueray’s focus has been green building practices and education. She also holds professional certifications as a Project Management Professional and LEED Accredited Professional.
Tanqueray is also the mother of two beautiful daughters and is married to her best friend, Paris. She also is a very proud parent to three wonderful dogs; Delilah, Abigail and Mr. Wrigley.
